Blue Splash

I shot this using my Nikon D70s and Tamron 90mm macro lens. I used my SB800 for backlighting. ISO 200, f/11, 1/500s. I tied this glass to my son's toy (a bus) and rolled it on a table. When I gave a jerk to the setup, water splashed from the glass. I moved the setup with my left hand and fired remote with right. And yes, I placed this whole setup in my bath tub :)

I think, I liked the description far more than the picture...:p

Just kidding...what's the liquid?

This is blue ink mixed with water.

I have broken so many glasses just accidentally, wish at least one had died doing something as creative. (Did your glass out-live the experiment? :) )

Really like the way the liquid is captured mid-flight, it can just barely be seen coming out of the glass.

Was the background gradient intentional?

Hey...did you have a posting on DP challenge also ?...Gr8 going Raj!

The gradient was the result of using single flash. This was not intentional though. It would have been better if I had used at least two flashes to get a uniform background.

I didn't break this glass :) I just pushed it by holding it tight.
