Lightning

This was taken on April 10th from my apartment in Alpharetta, sirens for a thunderstorm warning were going off and I was standing in the patio trying to take that perfect lightning picture that we always see..
This is as close as I came to getting it.
Manual mode with 5s exposure and f/8.0 aperture. White Balance was set to Cloudy.
Post processing: Cropped and sharpened.

Finally your patience paid off! We should get to clear ground where we can caprute the lightening part better.

Good job.

Hi Meghana

Timely capture! Capturing a lightning in a 5s exposure really needs some luck too :) I have heard people waiting for several minutes to get one perfect lightning. I can understand that you could not have avoided the clutter at the bottom as you shot this from your patio. A great attempt and a great result too.

BTW the clouds are too scary.

Sometime, I have to try this myself.

Thanks for sharing,
Raj

Great shot! I don't think of the buildings/trees as clutter. This picture to me tells a story and everything that I see in this shot helps complete the story.
