Rule of Thirds

Posted by Picasa

Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/160
ISO: 64
WB: Sunny

This was taken on a bridge connecting Goat Island to Three Sisters Island over Niagara river.
The river water was rushing on this bright sunny day. The branch looked delicate enough to be swept away any moment, but it was hanging in there..

Rule of Thirds

I wanted to apply 'Rule of Thirds' on some animal/pet portrait. Could not get an opportunity to take picture of live animal. So took shot of Jr. Mini.

Turned on grid lines inthe camera LCD and placed eyes of the object on 1st grid (Left/Top) intersection.

Motion Panning

F8
1/30 Sec
ISO - 100
Lense - 70-200 f4 L

One thing I learned by this excercise is that the success ratio is very low for motion panning shots. This was the only sharper pictures out of 20-25 pictures I shoot from my deck.

Motion Panning

I could not get chance to shoot photograph outside. So took this one indoor. To achieve this,

I used revolving chair. I sat on revolving chair, holding plastic flowers in one hand and camera in another, and revolved for 180 degree. Took several photographs. This is clear one.

Setting:

Shooting mode: Shutter Speed priority

Shutter Speed: 1/10

Aperture: 2.8

Cropped and resized. Framed.

High ISO - Anand Shinde

Aperture: 3.5
Shutter: 1/30 sec
ISO: 800
Camera: Olympus E500 DSLR
Lens: 28-90

This was taken during the tour at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in St Louis. If you haven't been there, I would strongly recommend that you visit this place. More info: http://www.budweisertours.com/

There is noise because of the high ISO. But I feel it gives the image a nostalgic feeling.

I used the usual technique to shoot Fireworks. Opened shutter in Blub mode. Cover the lense with black cloth in between the blasts. Closed the shutter after 8 seconds (4-5 different Fireworks). The judgement is based on the exposure of the previous photo.

Disney Fireworks

This picture was clicked recently at Orlando Disney World theme park. I clicked it using a Sony Cybershot digital camera. The camera has very limited manual settings and this is the best I could get.

Depth of field

As we know by now, correctly using DOF can make or break a picture. This was taken last summer...sorry I seems to have lost the exif data.
